I'm a NY'er born and bred- though I have 'ohana" that have moved to Hawaii. The "kanaka" goes back to old whaling days and a sea shanty called "John Kanaka".
I used to be a registered Conservative- back when being one in the late 80's meant something more than slinging mud and labelling everyone else not a Conservative as a "Liberal". I was no fan of Clinton the man but he was a good President- his wife's atics and Whitewater notwithstanding- America was riding a post Reagan/Bush downturn and WJC managed to turn it around. Anyone named Newt should stay under the rock they skitter under. Then Bush came and made a mockery of it all and so I shifted to Republican- the kind McCain USED to be. Before the Neocons took over and brainwashed him like a concierge at the Hanoi Hilton. Johnny we hardly knew ye- or is it that we've come to know the REAL McCain after all. So I looked at a guy from the "other" side who was putting people ahead of party.
So yeah, I'm for Change We need, and we need it fast- not slinging epithets and half-truths at the opposition- because when you start that shit, you're done. You've got nothing to bring to the big dance when all your campaign is about is attacking your opponent with whispers and hack emails. It's over, Johnny.
